* Note: let me just say for the recordthat I am not overly thrilled about the term “Electronic Dance Music”. Back in the day, you only need to say “Dance Music” and there was no doubt that you were talking about House, Techno, or at the very least…music that was heard predominately in nightclubs…however, with so many people that call everything with a kick drum and a hand clap “Dance Music” it seems to be the only way to define the niche these days is to leave no doubt, so that the average bone head won’t confuse it with whatever songs they danced to a thier cousin’s wedding or the high school junior prom.
Let there be no doubt that when we say “Electronic Dance Music”, that we talking about House, Trance, Techno, and their sub genre’s. – Harold Mansfield | Webmaster and Editor | Electronic Dance Music.org
